We have a very special meeting approaching! Our first meeting of 2021 is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 1st at 10am, EST using Zoom.
ZOOM LINKS
Our meetings will begin at 10am, but the room will be open at 9:30 so that you can test your microphones and cameras, if needed. We will begin our meeting promptly at 10am. Be sure to mute your microphones at that time. The meetings will stay active, even while we are on breaks, so if you disconnect from the meeting during breaks and lunch, you will use the same link to rejoin us. You may also elect to use the time to visit with one another, so please feel free to do so!
Take Care of Yourself
Our meeting is being structured over a 6-hour day with 15minute breaks every hour (except at the lunch break when we will take a one hour break). The trick with virtual meetings of any kind is staying engaged and focused. You’re sitting at your desk, or sofa and distractions are all around, you’re bound to get restless and nature surely will call! We will have those 15-minute breaks every hour, but 45 minutes is still a good bit of time to sit at your computer or device. Let’s give ourselves, and each other, permission to take care of ourselves during this meeting. If you need to move around or change settings we all agree that we won’t take it personally. It does not mean we are not interested in what someone is sharing, our bodies are just asking us to move!
Microphones
If you are not the person currently speaking, please mute your microphone. To mute your microphone, select the microphone icon in the bottom left corner of the Zoom call. When the icon has a slash through it, it’s muted. To unmute yourself when you need to speak, select the microphone icon again. Be aware of noise interference when you are speaking; silence the washing machine, television, music, etc. We all want to hear you and not noise!
Raise Your Hand
During the business meeting portion of our time together we will use the “Raise Your Hand” feature to keep us from talking over one another and to assure that everyone is heard. The moderator may remind you to use that feature if you forget – don’t take it personally!
Heart Checks
We hope that this meeting will find us welcoming some new faces as well as faces not seen in a while. With this thought in mind, Heart Check time may be longer than usual. While we are not limited in the time that we have to share, I do encourage you to share what is happening with you now, in this present moment, so that we can hear from everyone in the time we have set aside for this.
