Yoga Requests at St. Christopher

  • Please know that here at St. Christopher we have made a decision not to host any yoga events. In that yoga has its origins in eastern religious practices, we see it as incompatible with our Christian mission of Gospel proclamation. While recognizing that yoga has been embraced by many within Christian communities and that it can be utilized as an exercise with a Christian focus, many of the yoga groups that have contacted us do not do this, and have wanted to include teachings that are in conflict with why St. Christopher exists. In our efforts to be consistent, and to not fuel perceptions that easily lead to confusion and contradiction, we simply do not host any yoga events and ask that no group include yoga events during their time at St. Christopher. Thank you for understanding .
