Leadership Development Training
Friday evening, July 19 and Saturday, July 20

If you help steer the direction of your ministry, this workshop is for you.

This training is for anyone in your Unity center in a leadership role. Training is offered free and a love offering is taken on Saturday to support the event.

The UMMAS annual Leadership Training is a great way to stay current on your Continuing Education Credits!

4:00 – 6:00 ~ Check in to your hotel and dinner on your own or with your church group.

6:00 – 7:00 ~ Social Hour ~ Enjoy light refreshments, catch up with old friends, and make new friends.

9:00 – 9:15 ~ Welcome with Rev. Danny Spears and Mike Davis 

9:15 – 10:45 ~ Be You, But Bigger! with Rev. Miranda Koberg, CSE

Learn how to create a plan to grow your church sustainably! You don’t have to change everything you do to bring in new faces and get the word out to your community. Explore practical, attainable, and creative steps to stretch your demographics without overwhelming your team or resources. Finish this workshop with a step by step plan to take home with you.

11:00 – 12:30 ~ Intro to Board Service with Rev. Robin Volker 

Are you new to church board service? Or perhaps you have been serving for a while, but you still aren’t sure exactly what you are supposed to do. Maybe you are considering board service and would like to know just what will be expected of you.

In this training, you will learn:
Board roles and responsibilities
What makes a good board member
Characteristics of Healthy Boards
How to manage your Board meetings effectively.

1:15 – 2:45 ~ Putting the “Multi” in Multigenerational with Rev. Miranda Koberg, CSE

Think outside of Sundays with out-of-the-box ideas to expand into multigenerational ministry without offering dedicated youth or young adult programming. Through community outreach, partnerships, and special events, any church can achieve multigenerational involvement and support local families.

PRESENTERS

Rev. Miranda Koberg, CSE serves as the Associate Minister at Unity in Greensboro. She graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in Religious Studies in 2017 and completed Unity’s Certified Spiritual Educator training with UWM in 2019. With a history of leadership within both the Southeast Youth of Unity and Next Generation Unity programs, Miranda now focuses on helping Unity communities bridge marketing and generational communication gaps to grow multi-generational outreach and leadership.

Rev Robin Volker is an ordained Unity minister, passionate facilitator, inspirational speaker, and certified life coach. Rev. Robin is a frequent guest speaker for Unity churches, both in-person or virtually.  She teaches Unity and spiritual classes remotely and has served on the Board of Trustees of the Southeast Unity Region and the Great Lakes Unity Region.  Robin also provides spiritual coaching and direction for individuals, church boards, and congregations without ministerial leadership.
