Health, Healing, Wholeness and the Vibration of a Guitar

by Mike Davis

Healing and wholeness both relate to being in tune.

When you play a single note on a guitar or any other instrument, it also sets in motion a whole series of related notes called the harmonic series. Most of us don’t actively hear them, because they are quieter than the initial (fundamental) note, but they are part of what gives a sound its character.

They extend, at least theoretically, to infinity.

When all the strings on a guitar are in tune, they vibrate together in a pleasing way, and all the notes in the harmonic series sound right. When any two strings are out of tune with each other, you’ll hear an unpleasant, incongruent pulsing. As you turn the tuning pegs in the correct direction, you’ll gradually hear the pulsing stop as the notes come into harmony with each other.

In the same way, our bodies, minds and spirits can be in tune, in touch with God, dancing molecules and atoms spinning and vibrating in their own spaces. Or not. And just like with the harmonic series, one fundamental element affects everything else.

More and more, we are seeing that, in the quantum world, nothing is solid, and that our perceptions affect that which is being perceived.

I choose wholeness (in tune-ness.) I choose health (systems vibrating together.)
I choose those things by seeing them, and by actively aligning myself with my source.
I actively choose more movement rather than less.
I actively choose foods that strengthen me rather than foods that weaken me.
For me personally, every bit of that happens through prayer.

Let’s tune up!

Gratefully,
